Find out why AFABC membership matters!
It's important for us to share our successes with everyone in the adoption community. Our annual reports allow us to share an organizational overview of the previous year, highlight our programs and services, and demonstrate how we've made an impact in the lives of children, youth, and adoptive families.
The report is released every June. If you would like to receive a hard copy of our current annual report, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-320-7330 ext 100.
The past year was filled with change for the Adoptive Families Association of BC (AFABC) as we celebrated the retirement of Karen Madeiros, our Executive Director for over 20 years, and welcomed Anne Tower as our new Executive Director.
Throughout the transition, we continued to deliver support, education, and resources for families. We launched Adoption Basics, an online orientation to adoption, and two online workshops: Trauma-Informed Care and Safe Babies. For youth transitioning out of foster care, we added two new interactive quests to AgedOut.com: navigating permanency and reconnecting with birth family. We also launched an innovative resource about supporting LGBTQ2S+ youth in adoption and foster care. And Adoption Awareness Month saw over a dozen BC landmarks light up green to support adoption and permanency.
We thank our funders and donors who believe in the work we do, our Board and volunteers who generously donate their time, and our staff who bring the organization to life.

Where we make a difference
We take pride in pioneering new programs and implementing new techniques when it comes to supporting and promoting adoption in Canada.
We can't do it alone.
We need your support to expand the resources available to families in their adoption journey.
