Have a question about adoption? Talk with us now using our online live chat!
We offer a number of online supports including virtual support sessions twice weekly during the day and twice monthly during the evening, and online support groups. Our Family Support Workers are also available to talk via Facebook Chat and the Chat feature on our website.
Join us online for our virtual support sessions. Please see the August calendar for upcoming dates and themes. Come and discuss the theme of the day, listen to other parents share their experiences, talk about adoption in general, or just check-in. Join our Facebook events to get reminders and updates!
Here are some resources you can review before you join the virtual support sessions, or anytime.
Weekly sessions will be held Tuesday: 10:30 - 11:30 am and Thursday: 1:30 - 2:30 pm. Grab a coffee and chat with our Family Support Workers and the community online. Waiting parents welcome.
Our evening support sessions for August are:
• Wednesday, August 5, 6:30 - 7:30 pm. (Theme: Creating Attachment with your Child)
• Monday, August 17, 6:30 - 7:30 pm. (Theme: Strengthening your MCFD Adoption Application)
Our online support groups give parents a place to connect through Facebook. Some groups tackle parenting issues, while others have a geographical focus or connect specific types of families. All groups offer the opportunity to share experiences, socialize, and build friendships.
All groups are closed, require commitments by members to respect confidentiality, and are facilitated by one or more Family Support Workers. This ensures that the group stays focused and that confidentiality is respected by all.
