Mentoring and Playgroups

Designed for families who have adopted kids of different ethnicities to their own. True Colours is a playgroup and mentoring group that aids in cultural development and connectedness, and builds friendships and relationships with mentors.

Held in Kamloops, Nelson and Kelowna, True Colours activities are designed around a cultural theme. Dates and locations are listed below.

We are always looking for energetic, fun mentors of colour to join our True Colours mentoring team. If you are interested being a role model to young people, contact Dianna Mortensen at dmortensen@bcadoption.com for details.  

Kamloops

Location: Boys & Girls Club, MacArthur Island, North Shore
Time: 1 pm – 4 pm
Dates: Oct. 4, Nov. 15, Dec. 13
Cost: $5/child or $15/family
All family members welcome, all ages and abilities welcome

Kelowna

Location: Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs, 355 Hartman Rd. Rutland
Times: 1 pm – 4 pm
Dates: Oct. 18, Nov. 15, Dec. 13

Nelson

Location: Rosemont School Gym 1605 Crease Ave. (follow signs to Nelson Golf Course)
Time: 1 pm – 3 pm
Dates: second Saturday of the month
