Agencies

Under BC law, all prospective adopters must use the services of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), or a licensed adoption agency in order to adopt. (The lone exception occurs in the case of a step-parent or local relative adoption.)

The following agencies (listed in alphabetical order) are licensed to operate an adoption agency as stipulated by the Adoption Act (1995) and the Adoption Agency Regulations.

These agencies offer a wide range of adoption services and experiences. The one you choose will become your partner as you move towards and through your adoption. The AFABC encourages you to do your homework and research each agency so that you can choose one that is right for your family.
