Progress & reporting

Participants who do not login within two weeks of the course opening or are inactive within the course environment for at least two weeks, will be considered as dropped out.

Participants will be assessed based on their participation, behaviour, understanding of content as well as their ability to demonstrate self-awareness and reflection. If concerns arise, the facilitator will contact the participant and offer extra support; continued concerns will lead to a red flag report that will be forwarded to the adoption social worker to offer additional support as required.

At the end of the course, participants will receive a summary report and, if all modules are successfully completed, a completion certificate. These records will also be forwarded to the adoption social worker.

During the course, participants may be asked to complete and keep a copy of their coursework and assignments, which their social worker may request as part of the homestudy. Participants will be shown how to do this as a part of the course. The material of this course can be sensitive in nature and participants may find themselves reacting strongly to one or more of the topics. We ask that you keep an open conversation with your facilitator and social worker, who will offer support throughout. Our program emphasizes self-care and weekly check-ins.

We understand adoption as a life-long learning process; as such, we encourage participants to keep learning beyond the scope of the course. Throughout the course, the facilitator will offer feedback and answer questions.
