AEP Online Foundations [online course]
The AEP Online Foundations course is for general, and child-specific applicants that have not taken any previous AEP training. This course provides prospective adoptive parents with legal, social, and emotional adoption education. Core modules include: attachment, separation & loss, prenatal exposure, and cultural considerations in adoption and openness. Social worker referral is required. MCFD block funding is available to social worker-approved applicants. A non-refundable registration fee of $95 is payable by participants at time of registration.

Safe Babies Webinar Workshop [webinar]
If you are planning to adopt a baby or toddler, locally or internationally, this course is for you - especially if there is any risk of prenatal exposure. Learn about infant development, substance exposure, sleep issues, household and infant safety, support services, self care and more in this online webinar workshop. Important: Infant/child first aid training is not included in this online workshop. To receive a completion certificate for this Safe Babies course, participants are required to get Infant/child first aid training and provide a copy of their certificate to the AFABC registrar. Infant/child first aid training is offered across the province through St. Johns Ambulance and other first aid organizations. Note: This webinar workshop is not intended for foster parents.
