Course description

Learn the essentials for building a strong adoptive family, and meet the mandatory adoption education requirements in your province, with the Child in the Home AEP-Online especially designed for foster to adopt parents and previous adopters. This program fulfills the legal requirements for adoption education in the areas it is offered.

This convenient 8-week online course specific to foster to adopt families includes modules on attachment, adoption and child/adult development, trauma, child and youth mental health and legal issues. 

Lessons are delivered through an engaging mix of video, audio, writing, and group discussion, and because the program is online, assignments can be completed at your convenience.  Participants will benefit from working with experienced facilitators as well as a strong support team. For questions, concerns and technical support, contact us AEP-Online Coordinator

*Note: This course includes 4 mandatory live discussionsThe 1-hour live discussions are typically held during weekday evenings.  If this will be a problem for you, please contact the AEP-Online Coordinator. ​

This is an online course, if you would prefer to attend a face to face AEP, contact your social worker. Please note: Not all regions offer face to face AEP.
