Learn the essentials for building a strong adoptive family in this convenient 8-week online course. The core issues covered in this specialized foster to adopt AEP include attachment, adoption and child/adult development, trauma, child and youth mental health and legal issues.
Lessons are delivered through an engaging mix of video, audio, writing, and group discussion. Participants will benefit from working with experienced facilitators as well as a strong support team.
*Note: This course includes 4 mandatory live discussions. The 1-hour live discussions are typically held during weekday evenings. If this will be a problem for you, please contact the Registration Coordinator.
Please note the Child in the Home AEP-Online is especially designed for foster to adopt parents and previous adopters who have completed prior caregiver training.
To register, you must:
- Be a previous adopter who have completed prior caregiver training.
- For MCFD clients, know the email contact for the Adopt BC Kids
service hub or your social worker - Complete a separate registration for your partner
- Have a separate email address from your partner's
- Register in your region
