Safe Babies - Online Workshop - Spring 2020
Learn about infant development, substance exposure, sleep issues, household and infant safety, support services, self care and more in this online workshop.
Important: Infant/child first aid training is not included in this online workshop. To receive a completion certificate for this Safe Babies course, participants are required to get Infant/child first aid training and provide a copy of their certificate to the AFABC registrar. Infant/child first aid training is offered across the province through St. Johns Ambulance and other first aid organizations.
Prospective and current adoptive parents. Referred foster parents are welcome to attend.
Dates: May 28th, June 4th and June 11th from 7PM to 830PM
Format: Three x 1.5 hour online workshops. This workshop uses the Zoom online meeting platform. Please check your computers/devices compatibility here.
Fee: $150 per person. To receive a Safe Babies certificate, participants must register individually. If you have a current CPR certificate, please reference the chart below to see if it meets the requirements for certification in this course.
For central Okanagan caregivers: Course fee of $150/person is payable by participant at time of registration. Caregivers must receive prior consent from their Resource worker or Team Leader on their eligibility for reimbursement of the course fee.

Notes: We recommend that you have taken the AEP before this course. Course is designed for prospective adoptive parents, however, referred foster parents are welcome to attend.
