Caring for Children with Complex Needs - Virtual

Join our bi-monthly support group meetings for those currently parenting children with FASD and/or other complex needs. We will be meeting over Microsoft TEAMS on the second Tuesday of every other month at 6.30pm. This is a learning group and will have a theme each session. This group was formerly known as the FASD Parenting Group.

Join us on Tuesday, November 9th at 6:30 pm for our virtual group: Caring for Children with Complex Needs, a group for adoptive/permanency parents whose children have FASD and/or other complex needs. Note that this is not for waiting parents who want to learn about FASD or other diagnoses. You must be currently parenting to join this group - thank you.

The group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month in 2021: January, March, May, July, September, and November. It used to be called the FASD Parenting Group.

This is a learning group and will have a theme each session.

The group will be hosted by Dusty Laursen, who supports neurodiverse children, and Angie McMullen, Family Support Worker at AFABC. Dusty adopted her 21-year old son at age 13, recently adopted 12-year old twins, and is also a foster parent to another 12-year old. Angie adopted her 11-year old son as an infant, plus has two adult biological sons.

We look forward to meeting you at this group where you can learn, discuss what's going on with your family, and meet other parents sharing the same challenges.
