Join Master Traditional Drum Maker Greg Anderson for our eagerly anticipated Drum Making Workshop.

Join Greg Anderson - Anishinaabe, Master Traditional Drum Maker for this drum making workshop! Greg was born in Red Lake, Northwestern Ontario and is a Treaty 3 Lac Seul First Nations Band Member. His traditional drums have been passed down from many generations.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 5 and up. This is a family event and will require adult help and involvement, including preparation of materials (from the kit that will be sent to you) at home prior to the event.

These drum kits are free of charge to adoptive/permanency families, with one kit per family, thanks to a grant that AFABC received from the Victoria Foundation Adoption and Permanency Fund of BC. If you have more than one child wanting to make their own drum, extra kits are available for purchase at $160 each plus shipping.

This is an approximately two-hour event, and will include assembling the drum from the kit as well as some drumming and singing led by Greg and his wife.

As there is significant cost and planning time associated with holding this event, to be respectful of Greg and his family and of the Victoria Foundation for providing the grant, we ask that you only register if you know you can definitely attend and participate fully.
