Join our new professional development workshop series! We’ll share valuable information about the journey of adoptive parents and how you can support them in the permanency planning stage of their journey.

Adoptive parent and clinical counselor Ashleigh Martinflatt, will present this series. Ashleigh has been an AEP facilitator for eight years and has worked as an adoption social worker for MCFD. She also holds a Master’ of Social Work and is a CYC Ph.D. candidate.

In addition to the content outlined below, this first session in the series will include access to the presentation slides, Adoption Education Program, AEP key takeaways, and AFABC resources available to social workers. All attendees will receive a participation certificate.

Session outline:

  1. What is the AEP – A brief overview of the program
  2. Participant journey – Feedback and areas to support participants
  3. The role of the social worker – How social workers can support participants post-AEP
  4. Q&A with Ashleigh Martinflatt

Format: Zoom

Audience: All social workers and adoption professionals are welcome.
