GLBTQ parents

GLBTQ parents make great parents! The Adoptive Families Association of BC has welcomed all families since we began in 1977, and we celebrated when the BC Adoption Act was updated in 1996 to welcome applications by any one or two persons jointly. 

GLBTQ prospective adoptive parents may choose to adopt through the Ministry of Children and Family Development's Waiting Child program, through a local infant adoption program, or internationally through a licensed agency. Some countries have adoption barriers to GLBT individuals and couples, but there are still available adoption options in BC.
