Vancouver Island Support
Welcome to Vancouver Island! The Island is broken into two regions: South Island, and Central and North Island.
Adoption Key Workers
Correen Coons is the Adoption Key Worker for South Vancouver Island and the gulf islands from Chemainus south. Correen is mom to two children through adoption. She has almost 20 years of experience supporting at-risk children, youth and families. Her areas of specialty are FASD and prenatal substance exposure.
Central and North Island
Angie McMullen is the Adoption Key Worker for Central and North Vancouver Island and the gulf islands from Saltair and Gabriola north and east to Tofino. Angie is mom to three children, the youngest of whom joined the family through adoption.
Family Support Counsellors
We have two free family support counsellors who offer more complex or intense supports to families across BC.
Jen Hillman is an adoptive mom of two adult sons and a daughter. She is a certified Safe Baby instructor, and has been a part of AFABC for more than 25 years. Her areas of specialty include infertility support, early childhood, the teen years, and school issues. She is also one of our in-home support workers!
