Now you'll start the formal application process with an adoption representative.

Get adoption ready

During this stage, you'll find out all you need to know to become an adoptive family.

  • You'll take a mandatory training course, like the Adoption Education Program Online (AEP-Online), about various parenting, adoption, and special needs topics.
  • You'll also have a homestudy scheduled, which usually involves six to eight visits with a social worker.
